What’s Chad Connery’s Problem? :: Creating a Commited Culture

Chad is the CEO of PEAK Business Advising, a boutique business brokerage firm and consulting firm which provides expertise in buying and selling of private businesses, growth strategies, exit plans, start-ups and real estate acquisition and sales across the state of Tennessee and beyond.

What is Chad’s problem?

Not enough staff, general admin, need people that are committed to the business and fit into the team.

A few things came up:

*Right out of college he went to work for the yellow pages in Memphis

*Left yellow pages and went to corporate where he learned lessons and training for the future

*From a business brokerage standpoint you have to dig deeper into the business and know everything about the business

*Took almost a year to make the first sale, once first getting into the business

*You can find out a lot about a business just by asking questions. Red flags are HR, Finance, and Marketability

*Some people buy the business without knowing that they have to create processes and systems to prevent the business from owning the owner

*One of the questions to always ask the business owner, “whats the exit plan?”

*As a business broker it’s important to be in contact with business owners to help guide them and prepare the owner to sale the business when they are ready or hand the business off to a family member

*Always seeking referrals or for people who are willing to listen or be counseled in growing their business to sell

*If you want how to do something really well teach it to somebody else
